Flattened Meadow Grass Seed (Canada Bluegrass) (Poa Compressa)
Why Buy this product?
- A low growing, stiff stemmed perennial grass (spreads with wiry rhizomes)
- Leaves are a blue/greyish green colour, hence why it's also called Canada Bluegrass
- Has some value for grazing on poorer soils but not used in the UK for this use. Mainly used in the UK for landscaping uses with/without wildflowers.
- Found naturally in the UK, however less common in northern Scotland, Ireland and some areas of Wales. In grasslands, dry banks, waste grounds, pavement cracks, old walls/ruins, shallow well drained soils etc.
- Similar to Smooth Stalked Meadow Grass
- Flowers June-Aug
- 10-60cm in height
