The following types are specially noteworthy

Carmen Quinoa the only Quinoa variety in the UK.
Carmen has plant breeder rights that mean the seed that is sown is of a much higher ‘certified’ quality – giving much more reliable results.

As well as giving good ‘cover’ Carmen is capable of dropping 1000 kilo per acre of viable feed to game birds and is highly compatible to be companioned with kale.

Bicaulor Red Shooting Kale a hybrid winter hardy, 2 year shooting kale, with very good early vigour at establishment that ticks all the boxes and has a large leaf canopy for a ‘warm’ cover ideal for Pheasants.

Cottondale Game Mix as used by Mr Terry Harper owner of the Cottondale shooting Grounds, who has grown this mixture personally and comments ‘‘the best cover we have ever had…this greatly improved our shoot” The Cottondale mix will last several years and has both Chicory and Yellow Blossom clover that turn to superb game cover species from the second year onwards.
